Officers responded to the high school at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21, on a report of two cars on fire near the baseball field, police said.
By the time they arrived, the fires had been extinguished by a volunteer firefighter, police said.
The owner of a 1994 Ford Bronco was trying to jump-start the car from a 2008 Toyota Rav4, police said.
The cars were connected with jumper cables, and after a couple attempts, both engines caught on fire at the same time, police said.
Nobody was injured in the incident, but there was damage to the engines of both cars.
